I was extremely hesitant about getting my eyes worked on (as I am sure most people are). Thanks to the staff AND Dr. Goel, that anxiety left me at the door. Each and every single person I came into contact with were friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. They were all really thorough on explaining what to expect during and after, and it doesnt hurt that they all had it done themselves. So they werent just reading off a check list, they were able to actually explain from first hand experience what to expect. Lastly, the icing on the cake for me was that Dr. Goel called me afterwards to check on me later that evening. He called me, not his staff, but the actual Doctor called! That meant so much to me! If I could give Goel Vision (20) stars I would. Thankfully I wont need this procedure ever again, but if I did, I would certainly go back here.

I had LASIK done a week ago by Dr. Goel in the Columbia office and had a fantastic experience. Hes genuinely one of the kindest and most personable doctors Ive worked with. The office is very clean and all of his employees are kind and helpful. I appreciate that he charges the same price for everyone, no matter what procedure you get, different than some other LASIK centers (so it doesnt feel like he has incentive to push for a certain procedure over others). He was able to answer my dozens of questions and calm my worries through the entire process, and the procedure itself was alot less scary and faster than I expected! He even called me over a weekend to answer questions, and called to check in the night after surgery.Different doctors recommend different timelines for keeping out contacts prior to surgery since it can impact eye scans used to do the surgery. Dr. Goel said 5 days is typically long enough, but others say 2 weeks, so this created some confusion for me. I ended up deciding to wait a full 2 weeks to be safe and was happy I did as my eye shape ended up changing between the 5 day and 2 week marks.Right after surgery I was blurry but saw better. Had some pain for 4-5 hours after the surgery but not unbearable, just kept eyes shut. The next morning could see better than 20/20. A week later Im dealing with dryness and see halos around lights, and one eye is ever so slightly blurrier than the other. These symptoms are supposed to go in and out for the next 3-6 months while my eyes stabilize. Overall am super happy with the results and will recommend any of my friends/family in the area to Dr. Goel! Thank you doctor!!
