Dr. Sunny Goel was fantastic! I traveled in from our of town (2 hours) to his facility due to his reputation and his ability to offer the SMILE surgery. He was able to do my pre-op appointment and surgery the same day, I stayed in a hotel nearby that night, and the next morning I had my post-op. It was incredibly convenient and I greatly appreciate his flexibility to make things as easy as possible for me, coming from out of town.The procedure was quick and easy. The recovery time of the SMILE procedure has been amazing - I was able to drive 2 hours home (in the rain, of course) the next morning with no issues at all. By day 3 I'm basically completely back to normal.I strongly recommend that you go to Dr. Goel for your laser eye surgery needs.

I have been wanting to get visual refractive surgery done for quite some time now, and being a physician myself, with the fogging of glasses due to mask wearing and the increased eye strain Ive experienced due to screen time, I felt like this was the perfect opportunity. I honestly dont think Ive experienced an office staff, from front desk to nurse/tech to Dr. Goel himself as cheery, efficient, kind, knowledgeable and patient centric. I was referred to Dr. Goel from a fellow colleague. I live in Virginia, so Dr. Goels office is a bit of a trek for me, but it was well worth it. On my first initial consultation day, a very thorough eye examination was done, not only assessing visual acuity, but any aberrations, corneal thickness, etc. Dr. Goel exuded confidence and you could just tell, he loves what he does. He went through all the different procedural options - PRK, LASIK, SMILE and the risk/benefits of each. All of my laundry list of questions were answered before I could even ask. Luckily, I was a candidate for SMILE, which is what I was hoping for. Prior to the surgery, a few days before I had some last minute questions and jitters/fears, being as you only have one set of eyes. I was going back and forth between Contora and SMILE and Dr. Goel eased all of my concerns with his calm and personable demeanor. The turn around time was incredible as from consultation to procedure it was only 2 weeks. I entrusted him and I went with SMILE and I couldnt be more happier that I did. Dr. Goel walks you through the entire procedure and essentially holds your hand, so that you feel at ease. The great thing about SMILE is the recovery time. There were no restrictions the following day! My vision was 20/20 at my follow up post op appointment and its just amazing how clear the world is now - Im feeling very grateful and blessed! Regarding post op recovery - I havent really had any halos luckily. There is some photo sensitivity with bright light, which was greater in the first couple days, but has gotten a lot better each day and is par for the course of recovery. Minimal dryness and from what I hear about LASIK - theres much more post op dryness due to the creation of a flap. All I can say is all smiles here with SMILE. Thank you Dr. Goel and the Goel Vision staff! Highly recommend them for your visual needs.
