I have been a patient at Clay Eye for over 10 years. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Downer! He performed my cataract surgery when I was 53; this surgery was life-changing for me and nothing short of. a miracle. Due to being a micro-Preemie, I had high myopia with a prescription of -21 and -20, my eyes were suffering from wearing thick contact lenses for 40 years! Since cataract surgery, my vision is nearly perfect! Its amazing to see clearly without correction. Dr Pecararo, my retina specialist is kind & caring and annually monitors the health of my retinas. I am thankful to have the excellent care of the Clay Eye Team and their wonderful staff.

This evaluation is for an ongoing treatment, upon completion of the treatment I will write a follow up.My evaluation of Doctor Jasmin Islam is going to be more than just a few positive or negative adjetives. Since I have a complex eyes and vision problem, a brief narrative is warranted.In May of 2022, I received cataract-treatment surgery at another Jacksonville eye institute. Frustrated because those specialists were not able to fix a cloudy-vision issue on my right eye, I went for a second opinion to Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which is part of University of Miami, the number 1 eye hospital in the United States. My right eyes vision was so foggy that I was ready to surrender my drivers license.At Bascom Palmer I consulted with Doctor Maharaj, who also is a professor at the prestigious University of Miami medical school. Dr Maharaj evaluated my condition, and wanted to give me a series of treatments in both eyes; to clear the foggy condition on the right one, and to treat cataract and early stage of glaucoma on both eye. Additional visits were required, and upon learning that I was a Jaxs resident, Dr Maharaj referred me to as he said, one of his best students; Doctor Yasmin Islam, at Clay Eye.Shortly after I saw Dr Maharaj, I started consulting with Doctor Yasmin Islam. During the initial evaluation she pretty much recommended the same treatments that Dr Maharaj had recommended, which was prescribe eye drops and no surgery whatsoever.During the following 4 months I continued being treated and monitored by Dr Islam; she prescribed a cocktail of meds (eye drops) to treat the cataract and glaucoma conditions that I had on both eyes, and to reduce the ocular pressure of the right eye so the lens could be rid of whatever was causing foggy vision.The meds that Dr Islam prescribed did control my right eyes ocular pressure, and in May Dr Islam proceeded to clean the right eyes lense with the use of laser. The process has given me the best right eye vision that I have had in the last 15 years.In just 5 months Dr Islam achieved with my right eye what 2 previous specialists could not achieve in a year and a half.Dr Maharaj was right in his assessment of Dr Islam; she is a very knowledgeable medical doctor, The cataract and glaucoma treatment still is ongoing, but unlike my previous 2 Jacksonville eye specialists. Dr Islam is not planning to perform surgery on the left eye. That, my fellow patients, is clear indication that Dr Islam does not run a surgery mill, which my previous specialists seemed to be running.For her successful cleaning of my right eye lense, I highly recommend Dr Yasmin Islam !!

As always I was impressed with the amount of equipment they have in the office.When necessary, tests are easily done and patients are moved from testing areas to exam rooms seamlessly.Dr. Levine has been my ophthalmologist for years. He is knowledgeable and caring. I recommend him without hesitation.
