I have had deteriorating vison for a long time but kept putting off a procedure. I couldnt see well near or far and had astigmatism and cataracts. Also, dry eyes. Night driving was a real problem. I am an anxious person and really was scared on a possible negative outcome mainly due to something I might inadvertently cause (such as a cough or sneeze or twitch).I needed to do something!!I consulted with Dr. Heather Broyles at Lake Austin Eye (Bee Cave, Texas) at length (she gave me plenty of time for many questions and concerns). She reassured me that this was a very common procedure and extensive precautions are taken. She is a very person-oriented doctor and calmed my fear. I felt very good about her ability to help me out.I decided to do the procedure at Falcon Head Surgery Center (they were great there too). We selected a Johnson and Johnson Multifocal lens. I did dry eye treatments ahead of the procedure to minimize dry-eye post-surgery effects.I showed up at the surgery center at 6:00 and was done by 8:00. It was so quick and easy. I am not sure why I was so worried about the procedure. I was given anesthesia, so I barely knew anything was going on till I was done and I was ready to go home. Completely painless. No issue whatsoever. I did one eye one week and the other the next week. I was immediately able to see, (blurry initially as was expected), and after a few days I could tell this procedure was going to be a complete success. After 5 months now, I have perfect vision. It was much better too before 5 months. Near, Far and intermediate, 20/20!! Unbelievable!!!!!! No Glasses!!! Dry eyes are much better too. Night driving issues are completely gone. I can see!!She was wonderful!!! I highly recommend her.Dont put it offIt is well worth it. Its amazing.

Dr. Cottle and her entire staff were wonderful to work with. Their professionalism set my mind at ease, and I was in great hands every step of the way.

I cant say enough good things about Lake Austin Eye. After feeling like I wasnt a priority at other practices this office changed the game and I now feel like I am on a path forward. From the very beginning the office staff was communicative, thorough and flexible. Once at the office, I could not have had a more comprehensive exam by the technician and by Dr. Broyles. I was asked questions I had never been asked before (and I have a long history of eye issues so Ive been to different practitioners) and felt like Dr. Broyles not only spent time with me listening to my concerns - she gave me a detailed exam followed by thoughtful advice. She directed me towards a procedure that she does not perform herself after evaluating my scans, my physiology and considering all other factors. It says a lot about a doctor will turn down business so that the patient gets the proper care. Our encounter left me with an enormous amount of trust and respect, not to mention relief finally for excellent council and a solid direction. For me, it is quite a drive to get to Lake Austin Eye from where I live, but it is well worth the journey for such outstanding care.
