For 11 months, I was being treated for L4 and L5 crushed vertebrae; awful drugs and shots that didn't work...little hope from the doctors of less pain! Dr Darnule pointed out that my problem was not crushed vertebrae but was scoliosis. Using the new x-rays and the old scan I provided , Dr. Darnule showed my husband and I how this problem was causing my back and leg pain. He and I worked out a treatment plan to include physical theraphy which I requested be done at the Southlake location. Dr Darnule is a very caring and giving doctor. He took as much time as we needed to go over all the information on my appointment. We understood everything explained to us and if we had any questions, he was very happy to answer them. I feel he will do whatever it takes to help me get better. The only issue we had was his nurse. She was very short and hardly let us answer a question, without going on to the next one. She was polite, but strained. I did not feel comfortable with her. I had an EMG done by Dr. Tran prior to my visit with Dr. Darnule. I wanted to take notes on what she was telling me following the test. She told me it wasnt necessary- that she would follow up with a report , but I have never received or seen the report. When I went for my visit with Dr. Darnule, I saw his assistant first. She was looking for some background information as to my problems, I told her that I could send her the info from the notes I have made from all of my prior doctor visits over the last five years, but was told she didnt have time for that. I was pleased with Dr. Darnule and his manner.

I have been with the office since 2014. When I first saw him I could hardly walk. I saw Dwayne his NP almost every month until I got my pin under control. They did not take a cookie cutter approach, but instead listened to what I was saying and tailored my program around the pain I had. They also were able to lower the amount of opiates I was taking.by 75%. He has cutting edge technology as well which led me to try a spine stim that was the first of its kind. All these things have reduced my pain level by half! When I started with him I was on year 10 of debilitating pain that limited me on so many levels. I stayed home and rarely went out because of the pain. After almost 5 years with Dr Darnule and his staff I have my life back. This was my second time to have appointment with Dr Darnule. First was about 1 1/2 years ago.At this recent visit he did trigger point injections to a knot in my lower back; this immediately gave me relief but as part of his diagnosis he identified my left hip as likely culprit. The reason I didn't give him five stars is because he didn't explain why he wanted me to go straight to an injection and skip therapy. I meant to ask and forgot with so much going on. I think my pain level and previous surgery are the reasons why I am skipping physical therapy but it would have been nice if had explained it. Read review

Dr. Darnule is a compassionate doctor who cares about the whole person. Chronic pain attacks both the body and mind and he noticed this. He sent me to see a pain psychologist and used a combination of injections and medications to get me my life back. I like that he doesn't push pain medications like other pain physicians. He's not the doctor if all you want to do is mask the pain with pain medications. But if you want to really gain control over the pain and learn how to deal with it he may be the doctor for you. You must have an open mind to all options and be willing to take responsibity of your life. He's a good doctor so sometime hard to get in to see, but usually the best ones are. Read review
Dr. Darnule is a great pain management physician. He focuses on defining the source of the pain and planning a treatment to cure it. He doesn't push pain medication on me like other doctors. He used injection techniques to diagnose and treat my pain. He is very popular but very busy so this leads to a longer wait time and harder time with followup but I feel that is because patients like him and think he is worth the wait. Read review
